It is my very great honour to be elected as club captain for a second time and I can assure you of a very warm welcome from our team, be it your first or a return visit.
We have just celebrated our 125th anniversary and from the initial 9-hole course opened in 1898, we no have, thanks to the brilliance of Dr Alister MacKenzie of Augusta fame, an 18-hole course enjoyed by all levels of golfer since 1925.
The club nestles in the shelter of the South Downs and if the golf is not going to play, you can enjoy the views across the bay of Eastbourne, Bexhill, and Hastings.
Our Greenkeepers strive to keep the course in top condition and our Bar Manager, and her team can always be relied upon to lend a sympathetic ear. Our Caterers have a reputation for top quality food at competitive prices.
Seasoned or new players can be assured of top-quality coaching or advice on equipment in the Pro shop.
Be you a resident or just holidaying in the area and feel tempted to visit our Club, our General Manager will be happy to advice you on available offers.
I have recently become captain of the Willingdon Ladies Golf Section, following in the footsteps of an auspicious group of ladies who have run this vibrant, strong section. I have been a member for over twenty years. During this time, I was an active member of the Ladies committee.
I have two charities. Firstly, raising money to pay for a girl’s education in Nepal, a well monitored charity.
The second part of the fund raising is for the Ladies Section which contributes to much needed projects within the club.
Our Club Captain, Brian Watkinson, would like you to participate in the following list of events. More details will follow as we approach each event.
